In 2019 Saving Susan began a partnership with a children’s home in Poipet, Cambodia, called Imparting Smiles. Shortly after, Covid-19 shut down the world and made overseas travel almost impossible, but that did not stop the mission of Saving Susan.
Since 2019, eleven of these children have been partnered with families that have developed a relationship with these orphaned children through video calls. We have seven more that need Parent Partners.
In March Co-Founder Tracy Arntzen and Emily Westbrook, Ministry Coordinator, were able to see these kids face-to-face for a few hours. That short visit paved the way for our team to visit this week and further strengthen these bonds through worship, crafts, and faith sharing.
If you have been on a mission trip, you know you receive more than you give. This trip was no different. The staff at Imparting Smiles served us three delicious meals which included homemade fries and chicken nuggets. We also received hugs and notes from these kids.
Here are a few pictures of our wonderful time with these special children.
