“I choose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John 15:16
It’s hard to believe that we have been coming to visit Bileg Children’s Home for 10 years, including the two year pandemic interruption. There have been challenges with sustaining these trips but as our team sat around a table last night for a debrief, it was obvious that much fruit is being produced. This fruit is not only in those we come to meet, serve, learn from and fellowship with, but also in the lives of our teams.
Bileg, as our first step into missions, will always have a special place in our hearts. It’s a little like your oldest child: a lot of learning takes place and so much joy. We had a lot to learn and, in some ways, still do.
The depth of relationships that have formed over the years is truly remarkable considering the cross cultural differences. The entire team felt our time there was too short as we discussed ways to lengthen future visits.
We enjoyed a day of crafting with the girls and sports activities with the boys. Members of our team poured out their hearts and bodies during this beautiful time of connection. The day was full! We have so many pictures and memories to share. I encourage you to have a call or get coffee with one of our team members to hear about their experience.
Some of the best times and laughs are held around the table, where the kids love watching us explore their favorite foods and attempt to eat spicy noodle #7, fried crickets and tarantulas.
Our team enjoyed a hot noodle breakfast in Kampong Thom with Bunny, our driver. For those of you who know Bunny you know what a huge blessing he is for our teams! He loves like Jesus, and this trip we were blessed to meet his entire family. Keep him in your prayers as his mission is in great need.
We will update you on our time with Imparting Smiles next! Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.
