We are blessed to announce a partnership with Mario and Rose Morales to be the Discipleship Mentors for our Next Steps college and trade school students in Guatemala. Mario and Rose are on fire for Jesus and bring to the table a wealth of experience and an enthusiasm for mentoring young men and women to serve the Lord.
Rose, from the age of 11, started as a Sunday School teacher's assistant. From the age of 13 she was a Sunday School teacher at El Calvario church, with 10-year-old children for 5 years, then she was a Sunday School and vacation Bible school teacher for young people from 14 to 17 years old for 15 years. Rose has a degree in business administration and a degree in education.
Mario was Youth President at the Zacapa Christian Community church for 3 years and then, for 5 years, Director of the Men of Courage Program at Verbo Zacapa Christian Church. Mario is a teacher of secondary education.
They have been blessed with thirty years of marriage, and have raised three beautiful children. In God’s mercy, two are now professional men, fearing God, and good husbands and fathers.The youngest is in the Military Academy and next year, God-willing, will be graduating as an officer in the Guatemalan army.
Mario is thrilled to be joining with Saving Susan Ministry in caring for these Next Steps students: “We are happy to be diciplers and tutors of Hugo, Narciso and Miriam in Zacapa. Rose feels it is a privilege to be with the children; it is a two-way learning path and our goal is for them to feel as a family.”
