The Staff and the kids enjoyed their 4-day retreat in Kampot Province. They stayed in a cozy Guesthouse with an outdoor pool where the kids were able to have fun swimming during their free time. During the trip, the kids and staff continued to be filled with the word of God during Morning and Evening Devotions.
The kids had fun walking by the riverside. They enjoyed seeing French colonial buildings, cafés, restaurants, and storefronts. Some of the ladies even went to buy some clothes at the Night Market.
On the second day of the trip, the kids were able to see spectacular views at Bokor Hill Station, a famous hill station built on the summit at 1080 meters high. Here, they were able to see a glimpse of the Gulf of Thailand, a Catholic Church, and an old 6-star hotel lying derelict for years after being abandoned. We also visited waterfalls, and saw big trees and a bunch of monkeys along the road.
Next, they were able to go to Kep Province, where the kids were able to swim at Kep Beach, one of the famous beaches in Cambodia. They also tried their well-known seafood such as crabs and shrimp. After that, the kids went back to Kampot for a rest.
For dinner, the kids and staff tried dining out on a famous sunset river cruise where they could spend time on a boat eating good food and enjoying fantastic scenery.
The trip was a rest for all amidst the restrictions and lockdown due to Covid-19, and was filled with fun, laughter, new memories, fellowship and bonding together. More than that, everybody was able to rest in God’s presence as they explored His wonderful creation and took a break from work and school. Thank you to Bileg staff member, Kathleen, for providing photos and details from the trip.
