Saving Susan Ministry Announces
Hire of Field Trip & Partner Relations Directors
KENNESAW, GA - March 30, 2021 - Saving Susan Ministry, Inc. (SSM), a 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit organization based in Kennesaw, GA, announced the hiring of Pastor Bill and Allyson Overstreet as Field Trip and Partner Relations Directors. Bill is Senior Pastor at Indian Lake Peninsula Church in Hendersonville, TN, and he and his wife Allyson bring over 30 years of ministry experience to the organization.
Allyson and her husband Bill met Jay and Tracy while they were on a mission trip to Cambodia in 2016. Allyson has been a minister’s wife for over 40 years and brings her skills of networking, communication, and love of people to the team. She and Bill were born in Birmingham, Alabama, and have served churches in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida. They are graduates of Samford University and have three grown children and five grandchildren. They were excited about Parent Partnering as a way to involve their children and grandchildren in caring for others, especially orphans. They are Parent Partners of a young man in Cambodia - Mengseu.
The Overstreet’s will be leading and mentoring mission trip teams to SSM orphan community partners in Cambodia and Guatemala. They will advance an in-country field trip culture centered around discipleship of the team and service to in-country partners. Bill and Allyson will also engage with existing church and corporate partners and develop new connections for the ministry.
Saving Susan Ministry was founded in 2015 by local business owners Jay and Tracy Arntzen with the mission of elevating orphan care in developing countries through local Christian partnerships. SSM partners with and supports Christian orphan communities in countries where borders are closed to adoption by partnering Parent Partners with each orphan at the center through regular video calling, field trip visits, and financial support. Its goal is to support its orphan community partners in raising young men and women who break their chains of abandonment, succeed in their vocational callings, and become disciples and leaders in their communities. SSM has supporting programs, including music academies, English learning, and university and trade school funding that enrich the education of its partnered orphans and provide them with the opportunity to pursue their vocational callings.
