Q1 Ministry Update

Casa Bernabe is Here!

We’re so excited to bring you the latest from Casa Bernabe in Guatemala! This partnership began a while ago, but until now, we have not been able to bring you Parent Partnership possibilities. That’s all changing!

This month we can announce we have 14 children from two different houses ready for partnership!

The kids’ ages range from 5 to 12 years old. There are a couple of sibling groups among the boys as well. They are precious children, and we are looking to get them partnered quickly… They have waited too long already!

If you are interested in learning more about Parent Partnering one of these children, or any of the children we have available in this program, please email us today. Parent Partners make a financial commitment, but they also make a relational one. Becoming a Parent Partner means you are committing to spiritually and emotionally supporting a vulnerable child for the rest of his or her life. You are committing to guide them in the Lord’s way from now on… and what a blessing that will be for both of you.

All 14 of these children deserve a chance at hope and stability that a loving Christian home can provide. Stepping into their life can be such a small act of love but it will reap great benefits in the long run.

Next Steps Students & their special visitors

Next Steps students are deep into their university and trade studies. For our newest additions, this means a lot to get used to. Thankfully, they have adjusted well to the new environment among peers and friends, some they have known from their childhood. Creating stability and accountability is a large part of what these young people need and we are so thankful for those in-country partners who support these areas alongside them.

Recently, one couple visited the Next Step kids in Cambodia. Mike and Carmen Hanson hopped on a plane and headed over to see the group and encourage them in their pursuit of the Lord. The Hansons are Parent Partners to one Cambodian child, and they have somewhat partnered his brother and college student, Mengseour. (You may remember Mengseour as the student studying abroad in Israel when the war broke out and his studies took a back seat for a time.) Mike and Carmen stayed in touch with Mengseour during that time and God placed a desire in their hearts to make a trip happen for them to see him in person.

The Hansons serve college students in their home church and have a special love for these young adults. I think it is safe to say their visit was encouraging for the students, the Hansons, and the leaders of Next Steps as well.

What a blessing it is to have Champions that love these kids! We are truly blessed.

2025 Team Trips are filling up fast! Two trips, one to Cambodia and one to Guatemala, are currently full! If you are still interested in joining a Team Trip in 2025, you have one last opportunity. Our last Team Trip will be to Guatemala in September. Check the site for details and apply today. Space is limited and we will have to cut off applications early if the team fills up. Don’t wait to apply. You might miss an opportunity to serve the children and partners at Manos de Compasion if you delay…

Our Tennis and Pickle for Susan 2025 dates have been set. That’s right! We said DATES!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 14, 2025 for our Tennis and Pickleball ladies event AND Friday, August 15th for our Coed Pickleball Tournament. We are excited to bring back the men for a little friendly coed competition this year.

On Mission!

In March, our Saving Susan Ministry team hit the road to two partner churches to share this ministry with their congregations. Macland Community Church and Roopville Road Baptist Church held mission conferences on the same weekend, and we were there for it!

Jay Arntzen, Nancy Dow, and Sharon Jeffreys met many encouraging believers over the weekend that were happy to hear more about Saving Susan Ministry and how they could be involved. From the Prayer Team to Parent Partnering to Team Trips, God was working in many lives at these conferences.

Sometimes nudging from the Spirit leads to a partner that makes quite an impact on a child in our ministry. Please join us in praying for the fruit of these events to make itself known in His perfect time.

If you want to share Saving Susan Ministry with your church or small group, let us know!
