Day 1& 2
Our team has experienced God’s leading in unity and love, and we are adapting well to the culture of our host country. I overheard a team member say “the first day seems like we have spent a week together,” as we have shared so much fellowship together with our Next Steps Kids. The kids joined us in Guatemala City thanks to our partners Mario and Rose. We have shared wonderful meals gathered around a table filled with 20.
This has been such a blessing to each of us and hopefully to the Next Steps Kids.
Darwin and Yessi of Manos de Compasion were our gracious drivers and suggested we visit the tourist district - Paseo de la Sexta and the Presidential Palace. There was a music festival taking place and several of the Next Steps Kids had never been to this area of Guatemala City, a great time had by all.
Our second day we enjoyed a beautiful devotion time and brunch outdoors poolside. We then presented the kids with gifts from their Parent Partners, Next Steps Sponsors, and SSM. The kids were so appreciative and all smiles, even Narciso. Miriam and Hugo performed a beautiful rendition of “If I have you I have everything”.
Jelbin will begin Hebron Bible College early 2023 and we concluded our day by touring the campus and meeting his pastor's family. The Holy Spirit‘s presence was evident throughout the campus and within its leaders.
