Hear from Board Member Sherry Anderson on her calling to serve on our Board and how she has seen God working in the ministry over her five years of service. She is a retired teacher from Mount Paran Christian School and brings invaluable passion for and experience in education, especially for children who face challenging circumstances.
Serving on the Saving Susan Board for the past 5 years has allowed me to pursue my God-led passion for education of children who face great challenges. This is probably one of the main reasons I love being on the board. I also enjoy working alongside some extremely knowledgeable and talented people who are part of this amazing board.
I have had the opportunity to work alongside some amazing people through this ministry to impact the lives of children who, under other circumstances, might not realize their dreams or their God-given potential. I see God working through Saving Susan to reach more and more children and to bless, not only children, but the Parent Partners and those serving the organization. Having this Parent Partner relationship through Saving Susan to me has been so impactful not only in these beautiful children's lives but to see how moving it has been to Parent Partners- this has been a blessing to see.
I came to Saving Susan as a retired educator, working the last several years with special needs elementary children. In my role as a board member, I have helped, with other board members, to develop a Saving Susan strategy for EASL curriculum and other educational objectives. Outside of Saving Susan, I am the mother of two grown children - Drew (and his wife, Bre) and Kaitlin...all 3 are my extreme pride and joy. I am also wife to Doug Anderson for over 33 wonderful years. We attend Sanctuary Church in Kennesaw and I attend two Bible study groups at our church. For fun, I enjoy hiking, running, working out and cooking.
