Fruit from the Labor

We just love it when God shows off, and by being part of the Saving Susan ministry, we often get a front row seat to his glory.  This past trip to Cambodia proved to be such a moment.  Before our trip we were hopeful for one or two new child sponsorships; instead, God has added 8 new children to the Saving Susan family! We gave Him our meager five fish and two loaves and how he has multiplied!  “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work with us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever!” Ephesians 3:20-21.  

 

Five of the adopted children were from Haley’s House of Hope and three were from Bileg Solid Rock.  Another blessing that came from this trip is that the entire girls’ basketball team from Bileg Solid Rock got sponsored – again, more than we could ask or imagine!  

 

It was also beautiful to see how God worked through the whole trip.  Since it was a mission trip with several different ministries represented, the main focus was not just Saving Susan, and yet, while we were busy and focused on doing work in other areas, God was busy knitting together relationships between members of our team and the children in the orphanages.  Even though we entered the trip with various tasks, God accomplished his purposes.  It was also wonderful to witness how many of those relationships between Parent Partners and children were drawn together through young members of the Cambodian team.  Young people were bringing their parents on the mission trip, who in turn fell in love with the Cambodian children – what an awesome family tree of brothers and sisters in Christ.  We just love how God works, because it is done in such a manner that we can’t take any credit for it – it’s all in his sovereignty and his power is undeniable!
